In this 25 hour in depth live lecture series on the study of the subtleties and influences of the energetic body through the Chakra system, we will provide you with an 84 page manual and 25 hours of lecture and discussion. Become certified to teach Restorative Yoga with Virginia Gallagher & Savana Harwood. Restorative yoga enables deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation as you teach students to hold poses for longer periods of time with the help of props, calm music and verbal guidance. The main focus of this style of yoga is the resetting and stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system. Restorative yoga is an excellent way to help your students relieve stress and enjoy long, meditative stretches while balancing the nervous and immune system. Restorative yoga is intended to take the mindfulness that is found in all disciplines of yoga to the next level. It’s still and slow, and it’s as much (or more) about the mind as it is the body. Take advantage of this opportunity to diversify your teaching styles as well as your knowledge base.

"The Hotasana Yoga & Ocracoke Island Yoga retreat was amazing and super well organized!! It was very refreshing and relaxing 🪴I think one thing that made it so great was that you guys found the perfect balance of plenty of options but not overkill. That way everyone felt welcome, included, and part of a group, but if people wanted to go off on their own to relax, explore, and unwind they could do that too. This made it easy to either come alone and meet people or to come with friends and still get chill time with them. I LOVED this mix of meditation and yoga- I’ve never really meditated before and you guys made it easy and low pressure so it didn’t feel weird. My absolute favorite thing was the restorative yoga- sound bath- rekei mix 💕🤩🪴I’ve never done a mix and have only done the e sound bath or rekei one other time. I love that you guys explained everything in advance and gave options for different levels of comfort. Again, it made it not weird and super easy to learn something new!! 😍😍I also really appreciate how Savana from Ocracoke Island Yoga also offered additional options for extra yoga if anyone wanted more advanced or extra classes and she was super flexible about it! Everyone was so accommodating, friendly, and engaging 🤩. I had a blast and am already suggesting Hotasana & Ocracoke Island Yoga to friends for the next retreat in May!!! "

"The retreat was amazing and I enjoyed all aspects of it- this was the first yoga/mindfulness retreat I have ever attended and I was blown away with how easy it was to loose my worries and busy “real life” behind, and focus on me- my thoughts within- getting in-tune with my surroundings and Mother Nature. I lead a pretty hectic life normally. I travel a lot for work, I hold lots of mom guilt and worry inside, and I also lead and mentor lots of men in various stages of career and ages for work. They are engineers too, so super “know it all” and needy 😂 I went into this retreat with the thought of it being a couples getaway- it was nice to spend the time with Jon, but I felt like I achieved a greater self awareness and awakening more within myself, as well as forging an awesome connection with all the different ladies who attended. Between the universe showing off each day and the relaxing itinerary, I can not ask for anything more. The house was perfect too- close to the walking trail/water and close to food and burritos 🌯 Thank you for sharing your love of the Ocracoke, your spirit, your hospitality and grace over us- I will be back and I will be bringing friends!! 🥰"

Your Questions, Answered

Spring is usually still cool in the mornings and evenings and warm during the day so pack layers!

Bring :

  • swim suit /beach towel/ sunscreen/bug spray

  • water bottle ( the yoga studio also sells these if you want a new one!)

  • yoga mat if you prefer yours - we do have loaner mats available and mats for sale.

  • we do have a small mom and pop grocery store that has everything you need but if you are particular to a specific snacks/ brands bring it with you. There is 2 full size refrigerators in the retreat house.

Absolutely not. Our retreats are designed for all levels, including complete beginners. Our teachers are skilled at offering modifications so everyone feels comfortable and supported. The only requirement is a willingness to show up.

Your retreat investment covers all yoga and meditation sessions, all meals, island lodging, guided experiences, and the full support of our teaching team. When you factor in what you'd spend on flights, hotels, and classes separately — plus the priceless gift of genuine restoration & new connections — most guests tell us it's the best investment they've made in themselves.
