Candle Lit Restorative Yoga + Sound Bath Savasana

Restorative yoga is a relaxing and supported practice that is all about slowing down to restore your body’s natural capacity for health. If you take a restorative class, you may hardly move at all, doing just a few postures in the course of an hour or so. It is a completely different experience than the majority of yoga (yang based) classes offered. It is suitable for practitioners of all levels.

The goals of restorative yoga are physiological rather than physical. Our aim in Restorative Yoga is to affect the nervous system and to relax the body. Although, by affecting the physiological, physical changes will naturally follow suit, we are not targeting the tissues of the body; we are targeting the nerves. We aim to support the body in different positions to relax, encouraging parasympathetic tone, rather than to stretch or strengthen muscles. It is a receptive practice geared toward reprogramming the nervous system rather than an active (catabolic) practice.

This practice ends with a blissful sound bath using instuments such as crystal singing bowls, Seven Layer Tibetan Bowls, Koshi Chimes , Gong and Ocean Drum.

Low Back & Hips Release -LSD ( Long, Slow, Deep)

*** All Class purchases are non refundable.

This Class is an amazing routine created by Brian Kest. It is a set series of poses to release low back and hips. Poses are held longer than a traditional vinyasa class , very similar to a Yin style class.

LSD Refers to the Long holds, Slow Pace and Deep Release! This practice is all floor based poses designed to help you release the extra tension that we tend to carry day to day. Decompress, let go and feel better! This class is beginner friendly , no experience necessary.

Flow to Yin

*** All Class purchases are non refundable/non-transferable.

This class begins with dynamic vinyasa flow and then finishes with blissful yin yoga for AMAZING results! Yin yoga is a slow-paced meditative style of yoga with postures that are held for longer periods of time ranging from 2-5 minutes. Yin yoga was developed to penetrate deep into the connective tissue by applying moderate stress to the tendons, fascia, and ligaments. Vinyasa flow yoga is considered Yang yoga and focuses more on Sun Salutations and dynamic strengthening poses or sequences to work on the yang tissues-the muscles, blood, and skin. When combined you will leave feeling truly balanced with an energizing and uplifting first half of class (Yang) followed by a quiet and deeply introspective second half of class (Yin).

Self Care Slow Flow

This practice is a great balance of Restorative Yoga and Slow Flow. Slow down and take time in each position to reference feeling and alignment. Flows are incorporated to keep the mind and body connected. This is a great class for yogis that like the positions of vinyasa flow but enjoy taking their time on the mat. We often add slow mobility exercises and foam rolling to the mix! Restorative Yoga takes a “surrendering” approach by having the body relax to restore the nervous system and ease tension and mind chatter.

We take our time in this practice being mindful, taking care of what our body needs in each moment and adapt along the way!

Accessible to all levels. Beginners welcome.

*Ages 15 and under need preauthorization to sign up for class and must be accompanied by an adult taking the class. Please message us directly if you would like to sign up someone under the age of 15.

*No refunds for cancellations or no shows. No Transfers.

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support relaxation.

Mikao Usui developed reiki in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things.

Reiki aids in healing by helping people become energetically balanced — physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Private Sound Bath Meditation

Sound Bath Meditations can be an incredibly beneficial wellness practice.

Instead of guided meditation, which uses speaking to guide a person through a meditative state, sound baths use music and instruments such as gongs and bowls to provide the guidance. Not only are they a great de-stressor, but they can be the perfect introduction to meditation for beginners.

In general, meditation is excellent for managing stress and improving your overall wellbeing. Sound has been shown to help reduce pain, increase neural connectivity, and improve the quality of life.

. "In one example, integrative health research psychologist Tamara Goldsby's 2016 study on the effects of singing bowls on human health found that people attending singing-bowl meditations or sound baths reported a reduction in pain symptoms as well as less anxiety, tension, anger and feelings of sadness."

Dave Rabin, MD, PhD, a board-certified psychiatrist and neuroscientist, explains further: "Music and sound impacts us all the time by literally changing the rhythms of our physiology or the organ systems in our bodies, which change naturally without us thinking in response to the rhythms of sound," Dr. Rabin says. In fact, he says this change typically takes place in less than a minute. "Sound impacts us in these rhythmic ways very, very quickly and usually without us noticing it or being aware that our bodies are changing and our heart rate is changing and our blood pressure's changing."

This natural response to sound is why sound meditation can be a great place for people to start who might be new to meditation, or for those who may be in a rut with their regular meditation practices.

"As an adult, it can be very challenging to get into those [meditative] states. So using things like sound, whether it's delivered through your ears from instruments or from recording or whether it's through your skin like feeling bass sounds, the sound waves guide the meditation so they effectively calm the body," Dr. Rabin says. "They provide soothing stimulation to the body, and that soothing stimulation helps the body feel safe enough to drop into a meditative state quickly and deeply."
